Recently I asked on Facebook and in my newsletter for people to suggest one word to me, and I'd create a blog post about my interpretation of their word just for them. I have no idea where this will take us, but how appropriate that the first suggestion is Distance, for which I chose a photograph heading off into the distance. Where it it will take us, nobody knows.
I've decided to call this series of blog posts "One Word". And I'll do these as long as you keep giving me your one word. Feel free to post your one word in comments. The next blog post could be written just for you!
One Word — Distance
Distance was suggested by Tiffany, a friend who lives half the country away from me.
But my interpretation of Distance is more along the lines of "going the distance" as represented by this long, rural road. I dug around in my photo archives for this one, back to 2010. "Early" in October is thankfully not really that early at Minnesota's latitude. No doubt I saw the light frost on my own lawn, and thought quickly enough to throw my camera in the car and drive around some back roads. As you can see, I didn't have to worry about traffic as I was standing in the middle of the road. :)
And here I am, five years later. Still photographing. Although my path has not been straight like this road. But I'm still on it. And happy to be.
