One Word — Inspiration
For one reason or another, I don't take or make the opportunity to photograph silhouettes. A wonderful photographer friend of mine creates beautiful horse and owner portraits for her clients, but she also does magnificent silhouettes. (Shelley Paulson - it's definitely ok to leave my website to look at her equine photography! Just come back to finish reading here.) It's her beautiful work that inspired me to take this silhouette.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a young woman and her horse for the second time. She'll be a senior in high school, so these are very special images for her. No pressure on me! But thankfully she trusts my vision and loves my work.
We were in a field with the sun in front of me, so this was the perfect opportunity to create a silhouette. And I captured our beautiful, wide open Minnesota blue sky, too. I hope she looks back on this image and remembers the nice late summer afternoon with the horse she loves.
This blog post and photo choice was my interpretation of the "One Word" suggestion on Facebook by Manette. I had asked people to comment with their one word for me to write a blog post based on their suggested word. I either create a new image or look through my archives for my visual interpretation of their word, and write a blog post just for them!
