...it will be so nice to photograph outdoor plants. But when? There is still ice on the lake. Although I think the days are numbered for the ice fisherman. But with Spring comes allergy season, too. Kind of a catch-22!

I have a shallow pot full of succulents. They reside in the basement in a west window. They seem to like living down there in the cool environment, as they are left alone, and sometimes forgotten! But today this pretty guy got plenty of attention from me and my camera. The red/green contrast was just too nice to resist.

You’ll be seeing more orchid pictures soon. I have two orchid plants—one is in full bloom; the second about half way. I’m always looking for my photo of the day, daily in fact. :)

Processing notes: Capture NX2, Nik Filters—Pro Contrast, Film Effect Fuji Velvia, Bleach Bypass, and high pass sharpening. And yes, I was in the mood for a more creative interpretation of this succulent. :) It is green, and it does have red on it’s “fringes”. So things are just exaggerated.
