"Sometimes overwhelming and lonely"

from 29.00

Sometimes overwhelming and lonely – Originally created during January of 2013 during a frigid winter drive to Montana, this is only one of two images not created specifically for the mental illness project. But after shooting different images for Eric’s description of how his depression, anxiety, and memory problems felt to him, none fit that better than this image from my archives. I think it also represents his (and everyone’s) determination in the face of adversity. The What Mental Illness Feels Like photo essay, (now titled “If You Only Knew” has been a three-plus year photography project for me exploring what mental illness feels like to others.

Also known as “The Winter Prairie”.
